Abstract

This article regards how human development influences the work with the English language and what the role of emotions is during the teaching and speaking of the English language. A bibliographic review was developed through 9 items involving the teaching and learning of the English language. The introduction is considered the first item. The second one deals with a set of reflections on the methodology of teaching. The third one focus on the perspectives of teaching and learning. While the fourth item is focused on human development and the work with English. In the sequence, the fifth item is about the importance of emotional regulation in teaching. The sixth develops the student's self-awareness. The role of emotions in learning English is addressed in the seventh. The eighth item is the nuances of emotions during the teaching and learning process, and finally, the last item addresses the challenges present in the teaching and learning process. In this way, we demonstrate the extreme need to consider human development in the process of teaching and learning the English language in Brazil.
