Abstract

Abstract: Aging is increasingly common, this process, which was once considered painful for many, is now associated with progress and development. Countries with a high number of elderly people use these two words in their public policies and throughout society. Aging in a healthy way implies innumerable actions and among them, without a doubt, physical exercise stands out. The importance of physical exercises for the elderly is immense with regard to strengthening muscles, as well as improving immune and cognitive function, in addition to preserving motor skills, which guarantee more independence for the elderly. Bearing in mind the relevance of the exposed topic, the Physiotherapy and Physical Education Courses develop an extension project based on the importance of performing physical activity throughout the aging phase, called Senior Fit. This Technical Note describes the execution and future planning phases of this project within Faculdade Metropolitanas Unidas FMU.
