MOURNING UNDER THE CONTEXT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, IN THE LIGHT OF FREUDIAN PSYCHOANALYSIS

Abstract

This study deals with the elaboration of grief by individuals who lost loved ones during the
Covid-19 pandemic from psychoanalysis. The contextualization of the pandemic in Brazil
was presented, specifically, in São Paulo; the explanation about the process of elaboration of
mourning and the consequences of not elaborating; the value of ritual in this process, and
the importance of psychoanalytic therapy, as well as the psychologist's work to assist the
patient in listening to himself.
