Abstract

Abstract: Higher education institutions, during the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, adapted several aspects of their operation, including extension projects, in order to ensure their performance. Academic leagues organized themselves in the face of the new challenges imposed by this context. Thus, the present work aims to introduce the founding process of the Academic League of Cellular and Molecular Biology (LABCM), as well as its projects, challenges and solutions arising during the pandemic scenario. The methodology used was a documental and descriptive analysis, through the experience report of the board members and archived historical data. The results revealed the success in founding LABCM, the importance of digital information and communication technologies for its performance and popularization, adherence to its academic events, the promotion of experiences and the realization of various activities based on the tripod teaching, research and extension. Thus, LABCM had a positive impact on the training process, as well as on the professional and academic-scientific development of undergraduate students at the School of Health Sciences and Welfare of the Centro Universitário das Faculdades Metropolitanas Unidas (CisBem – FMU).
