Abstract

Introduction: Hearing loss can be caused by several agents, including infections caused by viruses and bacteria, which can lower hearing thresholds. Objective: To investigate hearing and vestibular disorders in patients with Covid-19 and their post-treatment sequelae. Method: Study of the narrative literature review type with bibliographic survey in the Google Academic search base and in the Latin American and Caribbean Center of Health Sciences (BIREME) and PubMed databases, in Portuguese and English. Results: 27 studies were selected based on the objective proposed by the research. Symptoms of conductive hearing loss, sudden sensorineural hearing loss, tinnitus and dizziness have been reported in patients during the infectious process or after recovery by Covid-19. The occurrence of ototoxicity was related to the use of hydroxychloroquine medication. Conclusion: We suggest further research and long-term follow-up studies in order to investigate how Corona virus affects individuals' hearing, vestibular system and quality of life.
