Abstract

Introduction: Studies have been conducted in order to clarify the inclusion and the physiotherapist's role in the Family Health Program, however, some authors
2 question the lack much of the population, professionals and managers on this topic, creating a factor that limits the performance of this professional in primary care. Objective: To identify and characterize the role of physiotherapy in the Health Family Program. Method: literature review Work with exploratory and descriptive about the role of physiotherapy in the Family Health Program. Discussion: The inclusion of physiotherapy in the PSF is still limited in some regions. But in beneficiary regions, the population shows great satisfaction with the services provided. The role of physiotherapy is related not only rehabilitation but also prevention and health promotion. Conclusion: Studies show that the physiotherapist has an important role in basic health care, working to prevent the disease and its diseases, health promotion, recovery, rehabilitation and improvement of the population's quality of life. However, it is necessary to train through changes in academic, future physiotherapy professionals so that they may act in the public health field, through experiments and practical experiences in the PSF.
